TRUMP: Words still matter

First of all, I’m a retired independent voter. My wife and I have been to Venezuela (‘75), Israel (‘79), the “holy lands” and Denmark (‘85 and ‘02). 

The Danish people love the Americans. Trump in his own words said he “would not start wars.” But he threatens Denmark with taking over Greenland. We already have a base in Greenland and Denmark says we can do whatever is necessary to make the area safe from attacks. Venezuela is another story. But to attack Iran? Where’s Congress? Mike Johnson is nothing but an errand boy for Trump.

Trump said on the first day he would “reduce the price of goods and gas.” The price of food has skyrocketed and now gas is going up past $100 a barrel. That means fuel for air travel, trucks delivering products, going to work, watercraft, fertilizer (food cost) and landscaping. 

As a manager and store owner I understand the cost of operating a supermarket. The bottom line of profit was less than 3%, only because we worked off of volume. The local markets are doing the best they can, unfortunately the chain markets have taken advantage of the rising food cost. Costco is suing the Trump Administration for the tariffs that have increased the cost of goods to the consumer. 

We can do better.
