DIGITAL MONEY: Consider alternatives

| March 20, 2026 1:00 AM

How many readers truly like another man or entity to hold and control their wealth? This is what will occur when digital currency is implemented in our nation and worldwide. It has progressed for too long for any movement by the citizenry to slow it down or reverse its course. This will become a computer hacker’s dream.

Are there any alternatives that may be considered? This writer has been on a cash-only basis since 1995. Even so, when my Social Security requires a digital account to draw from my monthly balance, it will be decision time for me.

There are many tradeable items available to most all citizens — gold, silver, ammunition, firewood, non-perishable food, fresh garden produce, a deer hindquarter, a quality knife, an extra gun (is there such a thing?).

My hope is that readers will consider alternatives to electronic slavery.
