Input wanted on McIntire Family Park draft plan

The public has a chance to help shape the future of McIntire Family Park during an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Hayden City Hall.
People can review the draft concept for the park, learn about proposed improvements and offer feedback to help guide the master plan.
Originally established in 1960, Hayden City Park was renamed McIntire Family Park in January 2016 in honor of former Mayor Ron McIntire and his wife, Joanne, recognizing their many years of service to the community.
The park includes several dedications and memorials and hosts annual community events. Come spring and summer, it's popular.
"The City of Hayden identified McIntire Family Park as a well-loved and highly visible community asset in need of thoughtful updates," according to the city, which is working with the consulting firm Architects West to define a vision for the park and identify areas most in need of improvement.
Community involvement is a key component of the master planning process. Initial outreach occurred during the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, where attendees voted on desired amenities using dot boards. In addition, a community survey is available to gather broader input.
"The purpose of this effort is to create a comprehensive and achievable plan that will guide improvements to the park over the coming years," according to the city.
