CURRENT EVENTS: Seeking clarification
1. Russia, long-time adversary of the United States, attacked Ukraine 4 years ago. Ukraine is a U.S strategic partner.
2. In response, the U.S. provides weapons and issued sanctions against the sale of Russian oil to cut off Russian financing of the war.
3. The U.S. has now attacked Iran, which has responded by choking a large part of the world’s oil supply, raising prices of oil, gas, aluminum, fertilizer, and helium world-wide. Urea fertilizer feeds 45% of the world.
4. It is widely acknowledged that Russia is aiding Iran in Iran’s struggle against the U.S.
5. The U.S. has now lifted sanctions on Russian oil, thereby assisting their financing of the war the U.S. is helping Ukraine to fight.
6. As of March 10, 84% of Republicans support these actions by Donald Trump (according to Fox), as they complain that gasoline for $3.80 per gallon is outrageous, with no recognition that U.S. gasoline is the cheapest in the western hemisphere and in fact much of the world.
7. Republicans continue to blame “greedy oil companies” and Joseph Biden for much of this. Biden is out of office now for 14 months. This is on Trump.
8. Some combat commanders in Iran have told troops that the war in Iran is “part of God’s divine plan”, but is widely believed in the U.S. to be a distraction from the Epstein files.
9. The U.S. is becoming politically alienated from allies as a result of the above actions.
