Fire damages Post Falls church

Firefighters respond to The River Church in Post Falls to battle a fire Sunday morning.

A Post Falls church was damaged in a fire early Sunday morning.
Kootenai County Fire and Rescue responded to the blaze in the 1600 block of E. Horsehaven Ave. about 4 a.m.
Units arrived to find The River Church burning and requested a second alarm. 
"Due to the size of the building and challenges with accessing the fire, crews were on scene through the late morning hours," KCFR said in a press release.


United cleared the scene around 11:30 a.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. The scene has been turned over to the Idaho State Fire Marshal’s office. 

Others who responded to the blaze included the Coeur d’Alene Fire Department, Northern Lakes Fire District, Hauser Lake Fire District, Spokane Valley Fire, Post Falls Police Department and Idaho State Fire Marshal’s Office.
