St. Maries man dies in crash

A St. Maries resident died in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 3 on Thursday morning.

According to the Idaho State Police, the 65-year-old man was northbound in a 2025 Toyota Tacoma about 9:30 when he failed to negotiate a curve and drove left of center near milepost 86 just north of St. Maries. 

The vehicle struck a southbound 1990 Peterbilt semi-truck driven by a 48-year-old man from St. Regis, Mont.

The St. Maries man died at the scene, ISP said.

Highway 3 was blocked for about two and a half hours.

An investigation continues.
