PF LIONS: Club thanks Winterfest 2026 participants

We would like to thank everyone who came out to our 1st  Annual Post Falls Lions Club Winterfest held on January 31st. We had a great turnout and based on the participation and attendance we are looking forward to planning our 4th Annual Lions Club Brewfest and Sausage Tasting this summer on June 27, 2026 and our 2nd Annual Winterfest next January.

We would like to recognize our terrific sponsors that helped us to raise money for community projects, charitable organizations, and scholarships for the local high school students.

The sponsor breweries included: Bombastic Brewing, Jeremiah Johnson Brewing, Kaniksu Brewing, Westwood Brewing, Brewscape Brewing, Outpost Brewing, Trail’s End Brewing, Vantage Point Brewing, Utara Brewing and High Country Cider.

Tim’s Quality Meats in Post Falls was our exceptional sausage sponsor. 

We also had some outstanding in-kind sponsors this year, including American Legion Post 143, Allegra Marketing and Reddy Ice.

Without everyone’s outstanding support we would not have been able to accomplish such an event to benefit our community.

APARTMENTS: Resident praises management

I am writing to publicly recognize two truly exceptional individuals who make our apartment community not just a place to live, but a place to feel cared for and valued.

Our apartment manager Beth and maintenance professional Aaron consistently go far above and beyond what their job descriptions require. In a time when apartment living can often feel impersonal, they have created an environment of genuine kindness, respect, and compassion.

They regularly assist residents in ways that many would never expect. If someone is ill, they help take out the trash. If a resident is out of town, they check the mail. If they haven’t seen someone in a few days, they make it a point to check in or call to ensure everything is okay. These thoughtful gestures provide peace of mind, especially for those of us who may live alone.

Their willingness to look out for residents and offer help without hesitation, is something truly special. It speaks to their character and to the care they have for our well-being. This kind of dedication is rare and it deserves recognition.

On behalf of myself and many of the residents here, I want to say thank you. Your kindness does not go unnoticed, and our community is better because of you.

PROVIDERS: Thanks for help during father's passing

As to the recent passing of our husband and father, James "Jim" Jamerson, we wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Mark Walsworth at Ironwood Family Practice, Kootenai Health, Northern Idaho Advanced Care Hospital and Hospice of Northi Idaho for their amazing compassion and care as Jim transitioned from this life to the next with his Lord and Savior in Heaven.

DRIVER'S ED: Thanks to everyone at the end of a career

I'd like to thank Coeur d'Alene for 33 years of supporting the public driver's ed program. Along the way I met tons of people who brought inspiration to my life. 

To the 40,000 students who gave me a lifetime of memories and a wealth of laughter, I will cherish you all. To my wonderful wife of 30 years, 

Teresa, thanks for raising three boys while I worked nights and weekends. Without your patience and love, I could have never survived the stress of it all. 

Thanks to my inner circle of friends who provided me spiritual energy and a generous supply of insight. 

Thanks to Parker Toyota and Knudtsen Chevrolet for providing all the cars I drove during my career. 

To Rho, who applied acupuncture for my physical wellness. To Dr. Schini and Dr. Neal, you're the best at what you do. 

Thanks to Doma for making the world's greatest coffee. To all the local businesses, thanks for servicing all my students (which, by the way, I should have bought stock in Taco Bell!). 

A special shout out to all my secretaries. You all made my job easier and went above and beyond what I could have ever asked for. To all the staff and teachers for being such professionals — especially to Mike Nelson for always being in my corner. To all my guest speakers who volunteered their time with valuable information. 

Above all, thanks to Judy Drake and Doug Cresswell who gave me a chance in 1992, without that opportunity, I could have never pursued my teaching endeavors. 

And last, but not least, to Dan Porter and Avondale Golf Course, looking forward to working with you all. A new exciting chapter! 

To Coeur d'Alene, the greatest place to grow up and the greatest job I could have ever imagined! God bless you all!
