The North Idaho Women and Their Money Conference will return June 9 to North Idaho College.
The inaugural event in 2025 welcomed 365 participants who attended 15 breakout sessions. At the end of the conference, NIC gave away $20,000 in scholarships.
With 550 seats available, this year's free conference will offer 18 breakout sessions, and the amount of NIC scholarship giveaways has doubled to $40,000.
“I’m so proud of the support this conference has received and that we can continue to offer it as a free event," conference Co-chair Teresa Irish said in a Feb. 17 interview.
A majority of last year's attendees reside in Idaho's five northern counties. About two-thirds were primary income earners or heads of households. Nearly half were raising children under 18, and 46% lived on single incomes. Just over a quarter reported annual earnings of under $50,000. Just under a quarter of attendees were between 35 and 44, with over a fifth between 55 and 64 or between 45 and 54.
"Women aren’t just managing money. They’re juggling real responsibilities," Irish said. "I’m excited that this financial literacy conference helps them move forward with confidence for themselves and their families."
The mission of the North Idaho Women and Their Money Conference is to empower women through accessible, quality financial education that builds confidence, offers practical tools and supports informed financial decision-making.
It all takes place in a supportive, judgment-free learning environment where women from across North Idaho are encouraged to explore key financial topics and leave with actionable takeaways to support their financial futures and those of their families.
"This is the best," conference attendee Jane Freed said at the 2025 event. "It was truly female centered, and you could really feel it. It's a whole different atmosphere."
According to 2025 data from Boise State University and shared by event organizers, about half of Idahoans report significant financial strain from housing costs. Idaho women working full-time earn a median of $910 per week, according to 2023 data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, highlighting how quickly unexpected expenses can destabilize even working families.
Registration for the 2026 North Idaho Women and Their Money Conference will open April 24 and run through June 1. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
