IRAN ATTACK: It’s about time!

Since 1979, countless people have paid the ultimate price for President Jimmy Carter’s scruples. Carter willfully permitted the Shah of Iran to fall because Mohammed Reza Pahlavi troubled Carter’s conscience.  

The Shah’s SAVAK secret police operated beyond the Georgian nuclear engineer turned peanut farmer’s Baptist sensibilities. The Shah, our most reliable US Middle Eastern ally (other than Israel), was too impure to be worth saving.  

The Shah had needed to be brutal against the Islamists. They hated him because of his White Revolution, which brought over a million Iranians into a modern, secularized, middle-class existence. This threatened the mullahs’ medieval hold over the minds of their followers. So, these Islamic fundamentalists waged a campaign of revolutionary terror. The Shah had every right to suppress them, by any means necessary.  

Carter’s choice created the most perniciously anti-American regime in the modern world. Their zeal to overthrow the “Great Satan” made Soviet communism seem coldly rational and makes Red China seem like a reliable strategic partner.

For 47 years, countless millions have been murdered at the orders of the Ayatollahs Ruhollah Khomeini and Ali Khamenei. Morality Police suppression, the Iran-Iraq War and worldwide terrorism have all been perpetrated in the name of God. Their stated goal is to cleanse the world with God’s Holy Fire, Iranian nuclear weapons.

We cannot make peace with such a death cult. We can only kill them before they kill us. It’s about time that President Donald J. Trump redeems Carter’s mistake!
