Ronald Kirke Walker, 87

Ronald Kirke Walker, 87, passed away June 21, 2026, at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, Wash.

Ron was born June 10, 1939, in Lewiston, Idaho, to Allen Kirke Walker and Evelyn Easter (Jacobs) Walker. After graduating in 1956, he joined the United States Air Force, where he proudly served for four years. Following his military service, Ron began a career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where he worked faithfully until his retirement at age 55.

Ron was an avid bowler and dedicated much of his time and energy to the sport he loved. He was active for many years with the Northwest Intermountain Bowling Council and the Clark County Bowling Association, serving in many different roles. Among his proudest accomplishments were the three 300 rings awarded to him by the United States Bowling Congress in recognition of his three perfect games. Ron also greatly enjoyed visiting Coeur d’Alene and looked forward to spending time with his sister, Vicki, as well as his many nieces and nephews. He treasured attending his CHS All Class reunion every summer and stopping by the Elks Lodge to reconnect with friends and classmates.

Ron was preceded in death by his cherished daughter, Savonne Jones (2023). Savonne is survived by her son, Devon Avery of Vancouver, Wash., Ron’s grandson.

Ron is survived by his son, Scott Walker of Vancouver, Wash., who has two daughters, Emily and Savonne, Ron’s granddaughters.

He is also survived by his sister, Vicki Cooper of Coeur d’Alene; her children, Brock, Darren, Jayna, Cindy, Candace, Tammy and Wendy; and their families, his beloved nieces, nephews and extended family.

Ron will be remembered for his service to this country, his unwavering dedication to family, his passion for bowling and the countless friendships he maintained throughout his life.
