Mary Ann Hollingsworth, 79

On June 11, 2026, while singing her favorite hymns, Mary Ann Hollingsworth left her home here and arrived in her forever home, where her Savior received her with open arms. She was reunited with her husband and two sons, Jonathan and Samuel. Mary Ann was born May 26, 1947, to David and Doris Kline in Oakland, Calif. She is survived by all five of her siblings: Margie McLaughlin, Bill Kline, Annette Lozinski, Bob Kline and Kathy Kline.  

Dec. 17, 1966, she married Jim Hollingsworth in Arcata, Calif. They eventually moved to Coeur d’Alene, where they spent the majority of their years together (except for a few years in the middle, when Mary Ann was a pastor’s wife and a missionary in Mexico) until Jim passed away in August of 2024. Mary Ann accepted Jesus into her heart after the loss of her son, Jonathan, who lived only a few hours. 

Mary Ann loved her family and is survived by seven of her children: David Hollingsworth and Bruce (and Julie) Hollingsworth, Jenny Randolph, Charis (and Jerry) Gray, Sandi (and Caleb) Nicholson, Katie Coble and Becky Miller. She has 15 grandchildren: Ally, Logan (and Hailee), Reghan (and Spencer), Jonathan (and Jasmine), Laney (and Devin), Emma, Sophia, Sam, Adam, Jace, Danny, Amanda (and Jonny), Tasha, Kellan and Xanga. She has two great-grandchildren, Elijah and Miles, and one more grandchild on the way.  

Mary Ann loved flowers of all kinds, but especially the pretty ones. She loved finding rocks and bringing them home to her garden. She loved bodies of water: lakes, the ocean or just a river, but always one we could swim in. She loved teaching anything: math, English, sewing, cooking, gardening … She was a patient teacher. Mary Ann homeschooled her children for most of their education and also taught some of her friends’ children when needed. She was always encouraging us to do our best, but was always happy we tried and just said, "You will do better the next time."  

Most of all, Mary Ann is remembered by all for her sweet smile and kind listening heart. We will miss her every day, her laugh, and the evident joy she had in being surrounded by her family. She always said her greatest joy was knowing that all of her children were walking with the Lord. 

Her memorial service will be held at Grace Bible Church in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at 2 p.m., with coffee and dessert following.
