Joann Clarice (Lunde) Holzer, 83

| June 24, 2026 1:00 AM

Joann was born in Breckenridge, Minn., in 1942. She grew up on a dairy farm in Fergus Falls, Minn., with her parents, two sisters and two brothers.

After graduating from Fergus Falls Jr. College, Joann moved to Bismarck, N.D. She attended nursing training at Bismarck Hospital and graduated as an RN three years later. She met her husband, LeRoy (Lee), while both were working at St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck in 1966, and they married in July of 1967. Joann and Lee moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, with three of their four children in the spring of 1977, and had their fourth child later that year. She stayed busy with her four kids' activities and sports, and rarely missed one of their games. Joann worked as an RN at Ivy Court for 38 years, where she touched countless lives, until her retirement in 2015. In retirement, Joann enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles, often completing two to three a week, and spent hours on Diamond Art projects as well. Her greatest love was her family and she enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible.

She is survived by her husband, LeRoy; children Bonnie Barton, Laurie Loew, Scott Holzer and Sherrie Holzer; sisters Arlene Worner and Connie Neuman; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed. "In memories we find comfort, in love we find peace."
