Larry Wood, 89

Larry Wood, 89, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away peacefully June 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous four-year battle with cancer.

Larry was born Oct. 5, 1936, in Chadron, Neb. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 22 years, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. Following his retirement from the Air Force, Larry continued serving his country as a civilian at the National Security Agency for another 18 years. He did not speak much about his work as a linguist, but he took quiet pride in the service he provided to our nation’s security. 

For the past 25 years, Larry had made his home in Coeur d’Alene. Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Patricia, and his children Lesley, Gail and Mike. His family finds comfort in knowing that his suffering has ended and that he passed peacefully, surrounded by those who loved him most.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
