James 'Jim' Foster, 89

Jim Foster, age 89, of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away June 9, 2026, after a brief illness. He was born in Warren County, Ind., on April 10, 1937, and was the son of the late Blanche and Albert "Bert" Foster, and the brother of the late Richard "Dick" Foster. 

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Charlotte; his son, Eric; his daughter-in-law, Suzy; and his grandson. Samuel Foster. 

Jim graduated from Purdue University in 1959 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He had a fulfilling career that spanned many decades and retired in 2013. He was a veteran and served as a Captain for the United States Air Force. 

Jim had a great love for all sports, especially baseball. In recent years, he enjoyed watching the Seattle Mariners. He loved being outdoors and working in the garden. 

He will be remembered for his kind and generous heart, steady presence and the love he shared with those around him.
