Chef Challenge returns to the Hagadone Event Center

The sixth annual Chef Challenge is coming to the Hagadone Event Center on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 5:30 p.m. The Inland Northwest's premier culinary competition brings together six of the region's top chefs for an unforgettable evening of creativity, entertainment and philanthropy, all in support of local hospitality workers facing financial hardship. 

Throughout the evening, guests will: 

• Sample signature appetizers created by each competing chef and then vote for their favorite. 

• Help choose the mystery ingredient that will challenge the chefs during the live cooking competition. 

• Enjoy a delicious buffet dinner. 

• Take in breathtaking views of Lake Coeur d'Alene while enjoying drinks and great company. 

• Support local hospitality workers and their families during times of crisis. 

Last year's Chef Challenge welcomed more than 200 guests, sold out in advance and raised nearly $60,000 to support hospitality employees facing unexpected hardships. 

"The Chef Challenge has become so much more than a fundraiser," said Jason Nye, executive director of CDAIDE. "It's a celebration of the incredible people who make our local hospitality industry so special. Every ticket purchased helps someone in our community stay housed, keep working, recover from a medical emergency, or overcome an unexpected crisis. The impact of this event lasts long after the final dish is served." 

A former CDAIDE care recipient shared: 

"I had never been in a position to ask for help before. CDAIDE didn't just support me — they treated me with dignity and respect. That kindness gave me hope when I needed it most." 

CDAIDE provides confidential, referral-based financial assistance to hospitality workers throughout Coeur d'Alene, Hayden, Post Falls, Rathdrum and surrounding communities. Assistance may include rent, utilities, transportation, medical expenses and other urgent needs that help individuals and families regain stability and remain employed. 

As the demand for services continues to grow, community support through events like the Chef Challenge has never been more important.
