CLIMATE: Can’t agree with fatalism

Barry McElmurry has a fatalist’s view of Earth and our existence on a planet we are deliberately and knowingly killing. We do a particularly good job in North Idaho with a preponderance of fossil fuel burning trucks. Why bother with Superfund clean up of Silver Valley mine tailings with that attitude? Cancer is ugly but what the heck!

Climate change is real, but when we defund weather observation, marine and water health statistics, ignore warming of water and atmosphere and wildlife die off counts, then we are supporting the accelerated death of the Earth. 

Not proactively planning ahead to avoid catastrophic events of floods or fires by the most intelligent species on earth is causing their own die off sooner. The Moon is not a pleasant paradise colony for the survivors.

As I head out to the West coast today, I studied not just road construction concerns but active forest fires that are more prevalent and global. 

If we slow the death of the planet, that is using our brains. Not our politics and pocketbooks.
