MAH JONGG: More places to play

It was great to see the article on American Mah Jongg and what they are doing at Mix It Up Home to teach and play the game. The article may have left the impression that that is the only place in Cd’A to find a game, but there are several other groups locally that play at different days, times and locations.  

Several groups play at Lake City Center. Two groups play there every Tuesday and Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. One plays American Mah Jongg. Our group plays Wright-Patterson Mah Jongg. The cost to play is just $1 each time for members of Lake City Center and $2 for non-members.

Our Wright-Patterson group welcomes new players; we have started offering lessons and practice sessions each Friday or you can come and watch on Tuesdays to see how the game is played. A small fee may be asked just to cover expenses (photocopies of instructions, etc.).

If you already know how to play, feel free to join us; see if you like our group and style of the game. If you don’t know Wright-Patterson but you do know the basics of Mah Jongg, you can pick up the W-P rules and hands by watching or practicing a couple of times.
