NOISE: Always been part of downtown

I don’t remember so much complaining about downtown noise up until the last five years. Which leads me to believe the majority of the complaining is most likely not longtime locals. 

What did you all expect? Everyone encouraged everyone else on the map to move here, and so they have. Did you think it would make it quieter? I would think simply trying to drive from point A to point B , while dodging the idiots that don’t have a clue how to drive would be a more legitimate gripe from locals. 

Downtown has always been noisy. Before buying your high rise, maybe do some research first and decide if that beautiful lake view is worth the rest of the racket that is and always been downtown. Conforming to the transplant's ideology isn’t our priority, nor is changing the  events that are part of growing up here. 

Don’t want noise, don’t live downtown. Of course, that means sacrificing that lake life status bragging. Or simply invest in ear plugs. Much cheaper than all other ideas on the table.

NOISE: 7:15 too early for street cleaning

I'm an early riser but not everyone is. I couldn't believe it when a street cleaner was going up and down our street at 7:15 am in the morning. Those trucks are loud (talk about noise pollution). I wonder how many people got woken up who normally don't get up until 9 or so? 

I realize the city of Post Falls can start making noise at 6 a.m. if they want to, based on the city ordinances regarding noise but, really?

TRUMP: President is out of touch

Remember, Trump promised to reduce costs for American citizens on day one. Instead the President started putting "tariffs" on our friendly nations and others without going through Congress. Then Trump joins Israel in a war that had not been approved by Congress.

So, what's Congress doing? Before the war, ships were sailing through Hormuz delivering oil and supplies to other countries. But, the war stopped all cargo ships. This drove the price of oil to all foreign countries, which affected the United States.

All of this affects transportation (business, trips, work, cost of goods and fertilizer) that farmers need for their crops. This is Trump's war, without Congress approval.

What about the famous "Ballroom", again without Congress's approval, he alone decided to tear down the East Wing for a ballroom at no cost to us. It turns out, it"s going to cost over $100 billion due to security issues; and we will be paying for it!!

What about putting his name on the "Kennedy Center"? That was taken down, because it needed to be OKed by Congress.

Then there's the reflective pool in front of the Lincoln Memorial. Trump said it would cost less than $2 million, and ended up costing over $14 million with no contract. Now, there's algae in the pool.

He has stated that inflation is a good thing?? I'm an independent voter, retired and I'm concerned about the direction we're going. The Democrats are not the enemy, they're Americans. Putin is the enemy.

Trump has backed off helping Ukraine fighting Russia, but has spent billions fighting Iran. Where's the logic? Ukrainians are fighting for democracy like we did 250 years ago.

TRUMP: About his energy policy

Trump supports the use of fossil fuels to supply our energy needs. Even though the connection between the burning of fossil fuels and climate change has been proven, beyond any reasonable doubt, and the continued use of those fuels will cause lasting damage to the whole planet.

The evidence of the negative effects of fossil fuels is so great that it is impossible to ignore. The only conceivable reason why those fuels are being used is because of private financial gain. Trump and his political allies and campaign contributors are all making money by supporting the use of dirty fuels.

This is not just a matter of policy — millions of people around the world today are already being hurt by global warming. Its effects can be seen in floods, drought, fires, temperature extremes (on land and in the sea), more frequent and severe hurricanes, tornados and hailstorms, shoreline erosion, natural habitat destruction, loss of agricultural potential and in the lowering of our own living standards. These events are all being driven by climate change.

This planet is our home.

We can't let the politicians ruin it.

On behalf of ourselves and for all of our future generations — we must demand a return to clean air and to the use of renewable energy sources.
