FIREWORKS: Personal 'rights' vs. common sense

| July 1, 2026 1:00 AM

I am a 20-year military veteran who supports our Constitutional rights wholeheartedly. I believe in the rule of law, and I think I understand the dance of enforcing weak ordinances in relation to priorities and manpower.

Therefore, can I make a recommendation (hopefully someone can come up with an even better one). Since noise ordinances and disturbing the peace are a very low priority (especially in no man’s land Hayden), I suggest getting acquainted with your neighbors or contacting your precinct committeeman and flooding the non-emergency phone lines when someone thinks it’s their Constitutional right to shoot fireworks ad nauseam after midnight for 2 weeks before and after July 4th.

Some people actually have obligations and have to work and cannot leave the area to accommodate your displays that you think are entertainment.

God bless America and happy 250th birthday America.

P.S. I love people who love and appreciate America, just please remember to respect Americans.
