St. Pius X Parish in Coeur d'Alene recently hosted the Feast of Santo Niño, bringing together parishioners and community members for an evening celebrating faith and culture.

The celebration honored Filipino devotion to the Santo Niño, the Holy Child Jesus, through prayer, music, dance, and fellowship, according to a press release.

About 150 people gathered to share traditional dishes and enjoy hospitality "that reflected the strong sense of community at St. Pius X Catholic Church," the release said.

The evening included an invocation and Santo Niño prayer by Parish Priest Fr Len Macmillan, cultural presentations highlighting the significance of the Sinulog dance, and fellowship opportunities that welcomed both longtime parishioners and members of the wider community.

The event emphasized the shared values of faith, gratitude and service that unite diverse cultures within the Catholic Church, the release said.

Organizers led by Flordeluna Espina and emcee Jacqueline Babol from the local Filipino American Northwest Association expressed gratitude for the parish’s continued support in celebrating cultural traditions that strengthen faith and build understanding across communities.

"The Feast of Santo Niño celebration served as a reminder that cultural expression can be a powerful way to live and share the Catholic faith," the release said.
