LETTER: Baum right about America

I wholeheartedly agree with Mike Baum’s letter (We’re becoming what we once fought). My father also put his life on the line for his country flying 37 combat missions over Hitler’s Germany as a B-17 bombardier. If he was alive today, he would be mortified at the stark parallels between Hitler’s regime and the tendencies of our current administration.

Examples are in plain view: discrediting mainstream press, weaponizing the DOJ, creating a vast federal goon squad to round up his dissenters, flagrant disregard for the law, wanton imperialism, authoritarianism, demanding we carry our papers, etc. Other countries — our allies! —  are thoroughly disgusted by the appalling arrogance of our leadership such that most have cancelled visits to the U.S. and are boycotting our products. 

This administration has brought out the worst in America and has placed us on a very dark and scary path. We have seen this movie before, and it doesn’t end well.
