ICE: Grateful they uphold the law

A recent letter sent by Mike Baum titled ‘America’ caught my attention. I’m baffled by his conclusion that “Because I am writing this, I guess I am now considered a domestic terrorist by the government as well, simply because I do not believe what they are doing is what previous generations fought to prevent”. 

Mike, you are not a domestic terrorist because you disagree. Disagreement and its public expression is an American tradition and a constitutionally protected right. However, you are being played by forces uninterested in what’s best for America and trying to sow discord, chaos and insurrection.

You have gotten your facts wrong. You state, in your second paragraph, that citizens are arrested and detained for peacefully attempting to help immigrants, and are then labeled domestic terrorists by our own government.”

What we are seeing, most recently in Minnesota, is a highly organized group of professionally trained and paid agitators (read BLM and Antifa) non-peacefully aiding and abetting illegal immigrants, who by definition are not citizens and are therefore breaking the law by 1. being in our country illegally and 2. actively trying to avoid lawful arrest and extradition by law enforcement. If you, sir, were to give aid and comfort to an escaped murderer, you would be arrested, charged and jailed along with the convicted murderer. Protesting and giving aid and comfort to our enemies are two extremely different things.

Polling numbers released yesterday show that an overwhelming majority (60-plus%) of Americans support the removal/expulsion of all illegals. Please remember that law enforcement does what the name implies: enforcing the law. I, for one, am grateful that they are doing just that.
