AMERICA: Must agree on facts
A Simon and Garfunkel’s lyric express the solution for troubled times, “When friends can’t be found Like a bridge over troubled waters I will lay me down.”
What will we lay down to bridge our nation’s troubled waters? Niels Bohr said, “The opposite of a correct statement is a false statement.” Truth is often defined as the property of sentences, assertions, beliefs, thoughts, or propositions that agree with the facts of the world. As it pertains to immigration and the troubled waters flowing across our nation, the facts are cloaked in deception.
Getting to truth requires one set of facts. The first cause of contention always comes from the blurring of facts. It would help to have one set of facts. So, let us see if there is a way to do so.
A Barna study reveals, as of January 2024, more than 7.2 million migrants had illegally crossed into the U.S. over the Southwest border during U.S. President Joe Biden’s administration — a number higher than the individual populations of 36 states. Unlike Biden, Obama used our immigration law to deport 3 million illegals.
The first cause is Biden’s immigration policy, which emboldened sanctuary states and cities to choose which laws they will defend. Aiding and abetting illegals to break US law has led to this tragedy.
1 Peter 2: 13-14. “Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human authority: whether to the emperor, as the supreme authority, or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right.”
