ACHILLES: A Democrat in disguise

| January 28, 2026 1:00 AM

I found the Cd'A Press article about Todd Achilles deceptive. Nowhere did you state that Achilles was a Democrat until last year and, IF elected, which party he would caucus.

“Independents” are nothing more than Democrats or Socialists/Communists who believe that by hiding their true ideology, some voters will be fooled into voting for them. I understand voters being frustrated with both political parties, but voting for an Independent is not the answer because every Independent will caucus with one party or the other. To date, all Independents caucus with the Democrats. The party with the majority determines the majority of members in the various committees and which party determines the leader of each committee. Understanding which party a person will caucus with is imperative to making a wise decision when voting.

Added to the fact that Achilles was a Democrat until last year, was born in Oregon, educated at UC Berkeley, lives in Boise, and (according to my AI search) sides with teachers’ unions, Planned Parenthood (e.g., pro- abortion), and gun safety (e.g., restricting guns), is it fair to assume he will caucus with the Democrats? Heck yes!
