AUTHORITARIANS: Look for the real threats overseas
Democrats and Democratic Socialists lost the presidential election of 2024. Now they, and the American news media which overwhelmingly supports them, are angry, and must use other means to make the changes which they desire for the country.
Among these means are baselessly and relentlessly accusing the new President and his administration of being authoritarian, fascist, racist, dictatorial, oligarchic, anti-immigrant, and on and on; hoping that if they say these loud enough and often enough, the voters, especially the uninformed ones, will believe them and demand that he and his administration be removed. That is what is going on with The Press’ recent authoritarian menace political cartoon (and another some time ago representing the president as Hitler).
If anyone wants to be concerned about REAL authoritarianism and its current and potential threat to America and the world, look no further than the nations of China, Russia, North Korea, Iran — there are others like these, either theocracies or Communist states — where putting forth a cartoon like this, disparaging their government and its leadership, would ACTUALLY get you “disappeared.” Enforcing our laws, maintaining our national sovereignty, restoring our defense capabilities, wanting what’s best for America — these are not authoritarian.
