Russ Brown Lecture Series set
The Kootenai County Board of County Commissioners and the County's Historic Preservation Commission announced the first lecture in the Russ Brown Lecture Series, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the historic Kootenai County Courthouse's completion in 1926.
The lecture series is named in honor of Russ Brown, a longtime commission member who recently passed away.
"His passion for local history and service to the County on this Commission has been greatly admired and appreciated," a press release said.
This first lecture will be held in Courtroom 1 on the third floor of the Courthouse at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 22.
The presentation is by Coeur d'Alene resident and historian Stephen Shepperd, who will discuss the origins of Kootenai County and the series of events that led to the transfer of the county seat from Rathdrum to Coeur d'Alene.
