$7,700 reward offered for info regarding killing of grizzly in Boundary County

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Idaho Department of Fish and Game are seeking information regarding the illegal killing of a federally listed threatened grizzly bear north of Perkins Lake in Boundary County near the Idaho/Montana border that was shot on or about Oct. 28. 

The Service is offering up to a $7,000 reward and Idaho’s Citizens Against Poaching is offering up to a $700 reward for any information that leads to an arrest, a criminal conviction, or civil penalty assessment.

On Oct. 28, Service staff received a mortality signal from the attached collar of the female bear. Service staff and IDFG officers investigated and determined the grizzly was shot in a manner indicating it was not a threat to the shooter.  

The Service and IDFG are conducting a joint investigation.
