Worley Fire Station 2 sold for $250K

Worley Fire Chief Scott Campos said Fire Station 2 is off the market. 

It sold for $250,000 to John Schultz.

“At the time he put in a bid and he was the highest bidder,” Campos said. “It felt good that we honored that."

The structure is a 4,300-square-foot building with office spaces, a conference room, a kitchen and an attached garage.

"He’s going to use the garage portion of the station for his farming equipment,” Campos said.

Worley Fire Protection District fundraised for about half of the price tag for the new $500,000 station and the sale of Station 2.

"From our projections, that should give us enough money to finish everything,” Campos said.

Worley Fire currently has five stations. For insurance purposes, the fire district is keeping two of the three unmanned stations open and closing Station 2, at 29803 S. Third St., Worley.  

Campos said the fire district is looking forward to opening its new station this summer.    

“We’re hoping for July of this year for Rolling Hills and we’re planning a big pancake breakfast for the grand opening,” Campos said.
