Museum of North Idaho opens new exhibit

The Museum of North Idaho announced the opening of its newest featured exhibit, "Moments That Made Us: Early Immigrants of North Idaho," an exploration of the diverse people who helped shape the region’s earliest communities.

This compelling exhibit highlights the stories of Scandinavian homesteaders, German loggers, Chinese railroad workers, Irish miners, and many others who laid the foundation of North Idaho’s development, a press release said.

"Through photographs, artifacts, and personal accounts drawn from the Museum’s collections, visitors will gain a deeper understanding of how perseverance, culture, and hard work built the rich and varied heritage we know today," the release said. "From the forests and mines to rail lines and homesteads, Moments That Made Us examines the industries and opportunities that drew immigrants to the region, and the communities they established in the process."

The exhibit encourages visitors to reflect on the shared experiences that continue to influence North Idaho’s identity.
