CHAPLAINS: Story is testimony to God’s power
I was inspired and moved by the Press and American Legion’s Four Chaplains piece from Feb. 24. Those men of God demonstrated selfless love which echoed Christ’s words “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” John 15:13.
However, their actions were not simply examples of “humanitarianism and brotherhood across different faiths” or a “call to action and a reminder for unity and compassion in our communities” so much as they were a testimony of the spiritual anointing of them all by the Judeo-Christian God of the Bible whom they served as leaders, and which motivated and led them to demonstrate faith, love, courage, sacrifice, and compassion, “clear eyed focus and gentleness”.
It was with power from God, available to all who put their faith in His Son, Jesus, that they acted as they did, and that should be acknowledged. Thank you, chaplains, and all the service members involved in the story for your service to America and the world.
