Idaho Panhandle National Forests is hiring

The Idaho Panhandle National Forests is hiring seasonal employees for the upcoming recreation season and is encouraging area residents to apply.

“Our seasonal employees are the backbone of summer operations — keeping our campgrounds, trails and recreation sites open, safe and welcoming for visitors,” said Forest Supervisor Tim Gilloon in a press release. “These positions offer meaningful work, hands-on experience and the chance to support public lands close to home.”

The IPNF is recruiting for a variety of roles, including recreation and visitor service, trail and facility maintenance and active resource management.

These positions are in addition to the seasonal fire-hire events already underway. Hiring seasonal employees will help improve trails, campgrounds and facilities, providing safer, more reliable and enjoyable recreation experiences for all.

“Seasonal jobs can be a first step into a natural resources career,” Gilloon said. “The IPNF values the knowledge North Idahoans have of the lands they grew up in, and we look forward to growing the careers of the those who call the Idaho Panhandle home."
