Congratulations to Jamie Walton on his retirement from Safeway!
Many, many years ago Jamie had a secret shopper come through his line. The secret shopper reported that Jamie got a perfect score of 100 for knowing his job so well and remembering everything he needed to say!
Jamie, it was an honor working with you so many years ago and I wish you all the best in your next chapter of life!

POLICE STATE: Make no mistake, we’re living in one
My father piloted 43 missions in a B-24 Liberator and became a wing commander. My grandfather was West Point Class of the Stars and was commandant for all training bases on the west coast, including training my father. They were both Antifa: Anti-Fascists.
Mr. Hulbert, your rhetoric aligns with the current administration’s policies of rounding up immigrants and deporting them whether they are here legally or not. This administration is flagrantly ignoring the Constitution of the United States without allowing due process, killing U.S. citizens when they peacefully protest, and now arresting members of the press.
Your representation that the citizens of Minneapolis are “a highly organized group of professionally trained and paid agitators” is beyond the pale. They are citizens standing up for their neighbors who are not willing to stand by and watch the abuses of this administration. The protestors have been overwhelmingly nonviolent, peaceful and exercising their constitutional right to protest.
To your last point, “an overwhelming majority (60-plus %) of Americans support the removal/expulsion of all illegals.” Mr. Trump campaigned on “removing all the illegal criminal aliens.” My eyes are witnessing something wholly different than Trump’s promises.
Mr. Hulbert, please know the facts before you pontificate talking points that hold nothing but hot air.,

MAGA: Only Christians when convenient
The MAGA movement wraps itself in Christianity while betraying nearly every principle it claims to defend. Scripture is treated not as moral guidance, but as a prop — waved when useful, ignored when inconvenient.
MAGA leaders speak loudly about faith, yet excuse behavior that openly mocks it: habitual lying, cruelty toward the vulnerable, greed, adultery, vengeance, and the glorification of power. They preach humility while worshiping dominance. They quote Jesus while rejecting his most basic teachings — love thy neighbor, care for the poor, welcome the stranger, tell the truth.
The movement rails against “moral decay,” yet celebrates figures whose lives are defined by corruption and self-interest. Forgiveness is demanded endlessly for their leaders, while mercy is denied to immigrants, the poor, the sick, and anyone outside their political tribe. Sin is condemned selectively, enforced downward, and ignored upward.
Faith becomes a weapon rather than a compass. Christianity is reduced to slogans about control — over women’s bodies, over education, over who is deemed worthy of dignity — while the radical compassion at the heart of the Gospel is dismissed as weakness or “socialism.”
This is not religious conviction; it is religious branding. It replaces repentance with resentment and replaces moral accountability with blind loyalty. When Christianity is used to justify cruelty, exclusion, and dishonesty, it ceases to be a faith and becomes an excuse.
Calling this out is not an attack on religion. It is a defense of it. A faith that bends to power while abandoning principle is not being practiced — it is being exploited.

Wow! Over 40 people show up in protest to Governor Little's visit. They are given a full color front page photo, with five additional color photos inside. You would have thought over 4,000 people showed up. Talk about over sell.
