WESTLUND: Any budget experience?

Mr. Mayor, after reading your concerns about the budget and your “plan” to rectify it, I found myself curious if you had any experience in this budget management or large scale growth. Especially when one of your main ideas was cutting back on staff. Because when you have a rapidly growing City, it absolutely makes sense to cut jobs from the people who are drastically trying to keep up. 

Because I’m not sure if you remember, but they will be the ones answering the angry phone calls. They will be the ones being yelled at across counters and desks while trying to do their jobs. They don’t have the luxury of hiding behind a keyboard.

Also, while it’s always good to plan ahead, you are raising concerns without providing the full scope of the actual financial position of the City. You neglected to mention any additional funds the City has that are very much there.

Some friendly advice from a Post Falls citizen: Get off the computer and get into your community.
