Sobek, a rising sophomore at Lake City High, won the 2K race in the Coeur d’Alene Crossing swim on Sunday afternoon, finishing in 34 minutes, 3.2 seconds. “I love how excited everyone was for the race and how kind and encouraging all the athletes were,” Sobek said. “It was a beautiful location, and the water was on such a good spot to race on the lake.” Sobek was also third in the 1.76-mile Long Bridge Swim in Sandpoint on Aug. 1, finishing in 42 minutes, 55.86 seconds.
