RISCH: Has done, will do

Idaho’s U.S. Senator Jim Risch will be on the ballot this November for reelection. Here are reasons to vote for him:

He consistently supports legislation that values liberty, independence, and the success of small business. His availability to constituents is outstanding. He demonstrates a personal commitment to integrity and virtue. A constitutional Republic relies on virtue for its longevity.

In the U.S. Senate, membership on committees carries the biggest influence for change. Senator Risch’s years of honorable work have earned him membership on key committees.

He is chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations committee. He is on committees for Energy and Natural Resources, Small Business, Intelligence, and Ethics. These committees deal with issues dear to the hearts of Idahoans. Here are some:

The Columbia River Treaty with Canada regulates the Upper Columbia River Basin waterways and dams. Senator Risch recognizes the agricultural and economic value of the dams (including the Port of Lewiston) and is opposed to breaching them. He supports local geothermal and nuclear energy development. He opposes amnesty but supports legal migrant workers. His positive relationship with the White House has led to the renovation of veterans facilities in Boise and stopping the Lava Ridge wind farm.

Todd Achilles is Senator Risch’s opponent. He has recently been part of Democrat leadership in the Idaho House but now calls himself “independent.“ To be on a committee a Senator is appointed by caucus leadership. There is no “independent“ caucus. Is it not then likely that Todd Achilles would caucus with Democrats?

Senator Risch has done well representing Idaho in D.C. Let’s vote so he can continue his considerable influence on our behalf.
