Susan Konda, 64
Susan Diane Konda, 64, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of her chosen mother, daughters, and son, who held her closely through her final moments.
Susan, lovingly known to so many as “Suzy Q,” was born on Dec. 16, 1961, in Orofino and graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School. Suzy dedicated much of her life to caring for others as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Nursing was never simply a career to her; it was part of who she was. Her patients felt deeply cared for in her presence, and many of the friendships she formed with coworkers throughout the years remained some of the most meaningful relationships of her life.
Though her absence leaves an immeasurable ache in the hearts of those who loved her, her memory will continue to live on in the lilac bushes blooming each May, in the color red, and in every hummingbird that passes by. We are confident she is being warmly welcomed to Heaven by her beloved Grandma Chickee and Uncle Jim.
Susan is survived by her children: Kris Berg, AJ Konda, Hailey Konda, and Nicole Konda; her daughter-in-law, Kristen Berg; and her son-in-law, Josh Guill. She is also survived by her siblings, Casey Hibbs, Mel and Robert Quincy, Sherrie Prangley, and Chris Konda; her aunts, Donna Collins and Cleta Amsden; her cousin, Londa Collins; and her chosen mother, Sarahyl Konda. She also leaves behind her former husband and dear friend, Tony Konda, and his spouse, Kami O’Neil Dent, both of whom she loved deeply.
Susan was a proud grandmother to six beloved grandchildren: Anthony Berg, Kyle Berg, Kahlan Berg, Theresa Quitt, Christopher Guill, and Kalalily Guill. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends whose lives were forever touched by her kindness and love.
A celebration of Susan’s life will be held on August 8th at 11 a.m. at Athol Real Life Ministries, with a reception to follow.
