| August 7, 2026 1:00 AM

Linda Marie Holecek, age 72, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, passed away peacefully on Aug. 3, 2026.

Linda was born on Feb. 17, 1954, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, to Berl and Frances Tanner. She grew up surrounded by siblings, cousins, and extended family and loved sharing stories of their many childhood adventures. She especially admired her father, a World War II veteran, whose strength and perseverance had a lasting influence on her.

Linda married the love of her life, Larry, on Jan. 31, 1975. They shared more than 51 years of marriage and built a life filled with love, family, friends, adventures, and treasured memories.

She always had an entrepreneurial spirit that included establishing and operating her own espresso shop and most recently, opening her first Airbnb.  Linda fondly remembered her co-workers from her time working at Athol Elementary, the US Forest Service tree nursery, and Buttrey's.

Over the last 15 years, she and Larry enjoyed retirement where they built a home near Kamiah, Idaho, and were blessed with many wonderful neighbors whom they count as dear friends.

Throughout her life, she loved reading, cooking, gardening, camping, the outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. She was known for her remarkable positivity, glowing smile, and ability to make others feel welcome and loved.

Linda is survived by her husband, Larry; her sons: Dean (Melissa) and Kevin (Holley); and her grandchildren, Carson, Colton, Becca, and Michael. She is also survived by her brother, Larry Tanner (Vicki); sister, Judy Kempton (Chuck) and their daughter, Heather Johnson (Mike); and many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Berl and Frances Tanner.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2026, at Riverview Cemetery in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. A reception will follow at Yates Funeral Home, 373 E. Hayden Ave., in Hayden. Please sign the online guestbook at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
