Become a youth representative for Coeur d'Alene
The city is encouraging young Coeur d'Alene residents to become a youth representative for one of its committees.

Young Coeur d’Alene residents are being encouraged to serve as student representatives on city committees.
“The city of Coeur d’Alene is seeking youth representation on City Commissions, Boards, and Committees,” according to a Monday press release from the city of Coeur d’Alene. “Service on these boards gives high school students between the ages of 14-18 an unprecedented opportunity to learn about city government, special projects, and to become involved in the community.”
Anyone interested in becoming a student representative can visit www.cdaid.org/volunteer/student-representative and download an application form. The deadline is Sept. 18.
Possible committees on which youth representatives will serve include the Parks and Recreation, Pedestrian & Bicycle Advisory, Urban Forestry or CDA-TV committees.
“A question that gets asked a lot is: What is the time commitment for a student representative?” according to the city. “It depends on the board/ commission/committee, but for the most part, City boards meet once a month, for not much longer than an hour or two. CDA-TV Committee meets every other month.”
