Wayne “Bear” Dehnert, 67, of Rathdrum, Idaho, passed away July 10, 2026, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. He was born June 13, 1959, in Oconomowoc, Wis.

Bear proudly served his country for 23 years in the United States Marine Corps, retiring as a Master Sergeant. As a small arms repairman and accomplished marksman, he dedicated more than two decades to defending our country with honor, commitment and pride.

After his military service, Bear found his greatest joy in the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and spending time at the shooting range. Bear took great pride in his marksmanship and enjoyed sharing his passion for shooting with family and friends. He cherished the time spent with those he loved and will be remembered for his strength, humor, charm and unwavering love for his family and friends.

Bear was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Pam Dehnert; his son, Josh Dehnert and his wife, Jennifer; his son, Jeremiah Dehnert and his wife, Chelsea, and their children, Jayden, Hank, Jazmyn, Faith and Ryker; his daughter, Jessica Dehnert, and her fiancé, Seth Mock; his brothers, Kenneth "Chuck" Dehnert and his wife, Carol, and Daniel Dehnert; his sisters, Pat Appenfeldt and Bonnie Grace; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, at 1 p.m. at the Dehnert family home in Rathdrum, Idaho. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Bear's life, share memories and honor the legacy of a man who served his country faithfully and loved his family deeply. Please bring a side dish to share, along with your favorite stories and memories of Bear. 

Bear's presence will be greatly missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
