Kootenai County airport director appointed to state board

Idaho Gov. Brad Little has appointed Kootenai County Airport Director Gaston Patterson to serve on the Aeronautics Advisory Board.

“I am honored to be appointed to the Aeronautics Advisory Board,” Patterson said. “I look forward to working collaboratively to support innovation and expand opportunities within Idaho’s aviation community.”

The purpose of the board is to provide the Idaho Transportation Department with current industry knowledge, analysis and insights to consider in the department's decision-making process. 

The board plays a role in shaping statewide aviation priorities, including airport development, safety standards and economic growth within the aerospace sector.

Patterson brings with him a background in aeronautics, industry innovation and strategic development.

“It’s great that North Idaho is getting additional representation on the Aeronautics Advisory Board and Gaston is the right person for the job,” said Kootenai County Commissioner Leslie Duncan. “His perspective will help guide important decisions that impact Idaho's aviation future.”

According to Kootenai County, Patterson's experience positions him to contribute in meaningful ways to the board's mission of advising on policies and programs that promote safe, efficient and forward-looking aviation structure.
