OPINION: Governor Little must veto HB 752

The Idaho Legislature has just handed Gov. Brad Little a bill that should shock the conscience of every person in our state. HB 752 will turn Idaho into a place where a person’s choice of restroom could lead to a life sentence in state prison. As your neighbors and fellow citizens here in Kootenai County, we believe in a government that solves real problems, not one that spends its time and our money hunting down people in private moments.

This isn't just a concern for the transgender community; it is a threat to privacy and freedom for everyone in Idaho. The details of this bill are frightening. Most people assume a "bathroom ban" means being asked to leave a building, but HB 752 uses the full weight of the criminal justice system to punish transgender people.
