'Concerning photograph' leads to investigation of Post Falls students

POST FALLS — Student-athletes on the Post Falls High School football team were investigated after a "concerning photograph" believed to have been taken on Post Falls School District property came to the attention of the Post Falls Police Department.

The issue was brought to the department's attention Sept. 4, according to a press release from Post Falls Police.

Law enforcement worked closely with the Post Falls School District during an investigation that was opened into the incident, the release said.

Police determined no laws were broken and no criminal charges have been filed.

Deputy Superintendent Anna Wilson responded to requests for comment by stating that the students in question were in violation of PFSD Board Policy 504.12, which deals with "Weapons Prohibited on School Property."

"It is prohibited for any student to threaten by word or act to use a firearm or other deadly or dangerous weapon to do violence to any other person on school grounds," the policy reads in part.

Wilson said district officials won't be discussing student discipline with anyone other than parents of the students involved.
