KIRK: No laughing matter

Many years ago, comedian Jackie Gleason ended his show with the upbeat phrase “How sweet it is.” He almost always left you with good feelings about yourself and the world around you, unlike today’s late-night comedians — vulgar, political, ratings-driven. Now the one laughable thing, if it wasn’t so terrifying, is that Mamdani (a communist) is going to be the next NYC mayor. We’ve seen firsthand what “America Last” agendas can do to destroy the greatest country on the planet, starting with Obama’s three gigs as president. Joe was on the back seat of the bus trying to eat his ice cream cone before he fell asleep. Sorry, folks, I got off on a rabbit trail. 

So, back to “How sweet it is.” Chalie Kirk was a Christian, loved Jesus and espoused biblical principles. In the past six months, prior to Charlie Kirk’s assassination, which changed absolutely everything, Charlie’s dream for America and our grandparents’ dream also, was taking place — hope and freedom sweeping across our nation and all parts of the world with a welcoming beyond human understanding. It was a movement, much more than politics, taking us back in time to God, love of country, the honor of being an American, hard work a good thing, millionaires not evil, two-parent homes celebrated and police, the good guys. Age has given me a great appreciation of the “good old days,” of how great our country really was and how quickly it can and did fall apart. 

The assassination of Charlie Kirk is a test for America’s soul, a turning point for each of us to examine our own soul. The choice is ours.
