Westbound I-90 Huetter rest area closed to passenger vehicles
Starting today, the westbound Huetter rest area along Interstate 90 between Post Falls and Coeur d’Alene is closed to passenger vehicles as crews stage equipment and materials for the I-90 expansion project.
The closure for passenger vehicles will remain in effect until the project is complete in 2029, the Idaho Transportation Department said in a press release.
Commercial truck parking and facility use will stay open for truck drivers until summer 2026, when the entire rest area will close for construction.
At this time, the eastbound Huetter rest area facility is not impacted by these closures and will remain open to both passenger vehicles and commercial trucks. Closures to the eastbound facility aren’t expected until 2027, the release said.
