Police investigating attack on elderly woman
COEUR d’ALENE — Authorities are investigating an attack that left an elderly woman with “life-threatening” injuries, according to the Coeur d’Alene Police Department.
Officers responded around 5:20 p.m. Thursday to a residence on Skyline Drive, following a report of an unconscious elderly woman.
“Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim with life-threatening injuries and a significant amount of blood at the scene,” a news release said.
The woman was transported to Kootenai Health for treatment.
Preliminary findings suggest the woman was attacked, according to police. The attack is believed to have occurred between Wednesday at noon and 5 p.m. Thursday.
The Coeur d’Alene Police Department urges anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area of Skyline Drive or Royal Anne Drive during that timeframe to contact authorities by calling 208-769-2320.
