David Erickson announces candidacy for Hayden City Council, Seat 4
David Erickson has announced his candidacy for Hayden City Council, Seat 4.
Erickson, a U.S. Army Special Forces “Green Beret” veteran and consultant and broker for dental practices nationwide, brings leadership, discipline and business expertise to the race, the Monday announcement said.
Erickson and his wife, Jessica, moved to Hayden in 2020 because they believe there is no better place to raise their three children. They were drawn to Hayden’s welcoming people, small-town charm and a community that reflects their conservative principles and faith. Erickson describes himself as fiscally and socially conservative. His values are rooted in Christian faith and military service, where he learned discipline, accountability and fortitude. Guided by convictions yet objective in decision-making, he always places the community’s interests first, the announcement said.
Erickson has identified four core priorities for Hayden’s future:
• Responsible growth and traffic — Manage development wisely so infrastructure and traffic keep pace while preserving Hayden’s small-town character.
• Fiscal conservatism — Protect taxpayers by cutting waste, demanding efficiency and keeping budgets focused on core priorities.
• Patriotism and families — Support strong families, faith, local businesses and veterans as the foundation of the community.
• Good governance — Provide engaged, accountable leadership with integrity, preparation and transparency.
Hayden faces challenges with growth, infrastructure and preserving its way of life, the announcement said. Erickson is committed to meeting these with preparation, accountability and fortitude — qualities carried from military service into community leadership.
Erickson serves on Hayden’s Planning and Zoning Commission and is the secretary of the North Idaho Chapter of the Special Forces Association.
