ENVIRONMENT: Fulcher’s water and energy bill

Extractive industries are subject to global market fluctuations. Passing this bill under the guise of economic independence is misleading. Also, Rep Fulcher doesn’t mention our environment in his explanation of support.

Americans have made it clear to Congress for 50 years that we want environmental health as a part of every plan. Instead, Fulcher and the Republican Congress support weakening protections and are now in the process of handing millions of acres of our public lands over to extraction industries and planning to eliminate the “roadless rule.” 

Our descendants will be left with a depleted and damaged landscape to deal with but none of the benefits of this short term economically volatile solution giving polluters a free hand to do what they want. 

Under the guise of economic security Fulcher and Trump are bringing back pollution while destroying the uniqueness of Idaho’s proud position as the state with the most wilderness areas. It’s nothing to brag about.
