Kingston woman dies in crash

SMELTERVILLE — The Idaho State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred about 10:25 a.m. Sunday on westbound Interstate 90 near milepost 48.5 in Shoshone County.
A 67-year-old man from Kingston was riding a 2002 Harley-Davidson motorcycle with a 66-year-old female passenger, also from Kingston, when the motorcycle’s rear tire blew. The rider lost control, and the motorcycle crashed.
Both individuals were wearing helmets. However, the passenger’s helmet came off during the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
The right lane of I-90 was blocked for about two hours. Next of kin has been notified. The investigation is ongoing.
