Congratulations on becoming the Managing Editor of The Coeur d’Alene Press.  

Small community newspapers are a core component of an informed population. 

Regrettably, we have “newspaper deserts” where people consume misleading, propagandized social media.

This creates voters ramped up by emotion instead of data. It has resulted in policies and politicians damaging our democracy and standing in the world.

Yours is a vital, important role in society, and you are certainly up to the challenge!
