PULSIPHER: The worthy candidate
I am writing this letter concerning mayoral candidate John Pulsipher. I have known the Pulsipher family for nearly 25 years. I was thrilled when I heard that John was going to run for mayor. I know John to be a very caring, service minded, devoted, and a humble individual.
I have witnessed firsthand John’s commitment to his family and his deep concern and love of this community, trying to do all in his power to keep this community the place we have all loved and wish to continue to see thrive.
John is an out-of-the-box thinker. I think his ideas to put some of the burden of our fair city on the backs of the people who come and use our city, parks, lake and sometimes are the cause of issues that require first responder services, Is brilliant. I was in the hotel business for 25 years and know firsthand of the amount of people that come to Coeur d’Alene, especially those who dodge paying hotel taxes by staying in VRBOs, or STRs.
We need someone to lead who has the city’s well-being at the forefront. I also think John’s willingness to forgo the mayoral salary and benefits, and put it towards a first responder fund, shows his willingness to serve, and not to get gain. John is cut from the same cloth as another locally revered and respected individual — Ron McIntire. In my opinion, you could not vote for a more worthy candidate.
